Teflon coating is recommended for abrasive or corrosive environments. The piston and the bore are coated with a layer of teflon, resulting in longer life in these environments. Teflon reduces friction between the piston and the bore and also protects against rust. Teflon is not a substitute for oil. Please follow standard lubricating procedures.
